Poppykalas explores new depths in the sensual universe of flowers in collaboration with Swedish wallpaper manufacturer Tigron & Floyd.
"I still clearly remember my grandmother's wallpaper and curtains - pink flowers all over. As long as I can remember, I have loved the flower print.
It feels amazing to be surrounded by flowers whatever it is in the vase, on the wall or in the garden. And imagine falling asleep with a wall full of flowers and waking up to it again in the morning. I am very excited about the idea of being able to share my passion in a new way”. - Thilde Maria Kristensen, Poppykalas
The wallpaper collection conveys an universal languages in a new interesting format that sets a mood and or a feeling. Poppykalas’s new interpretation of the "grandmother wallpaper" invites a convincing and eclectic staging of the home.
The result is a beautiful example of magic that can occur when two different professionals collaborate.
"We became acquainted with Thildes flower art via Instagram and were instantly taken. She has that special talent and sees angles, shades and flower textures in a completely unique way. We like the way in which Thilde sets her own limits for what is possible and does not dictate unwritten rules. It appeals to us and fits well with how we work with pattern design. " - Eveline Johnsson, one half of the design duo at Tigron & Floyd.
With great inspiration from the 18th century French Madame de Pompadour, her intellectuality and lavish lifestyle. "More is more". A francophile cornucopia of colors and flowers with a modern touch is common denominator for both wallpapers.
"As a stylist working with flowers, I design moods and expressions. I have also done this wallpaper collection. The Pompadour Poppy wallpaper cultivates the poppy, underwater aesthetics of the poppies salmon poppies up against a dark opal green background, whereas Pompadour Rose goes all the way with a more light ultra-feminine wallpaper in pink and light-colored tones." - Thilde Maria Kristensen, Poppykalas
The flowers illustrated in patterns are photographed by Tigron & Floyd's design duo Hanna Richter and Eveline Johnsson. Subsequently, the patterns were created digitally in close collaboration with Poppykalas.
